Tanari Mainnet Will Open as a Circle

29.1.2026

Bitcoin had a big moment this week!

With Citrea officially launching mainnet, Bitcoin now has a trust-minimized application layer anchored to L1 security. That’s a HUGE milestone for the entire ecosystem, and we want to start by saying congrats to the whole Citrea team for the work it took to get here!

This opens a new phase for Bitcoin-native applications, including Tanari. You may have noticed that while Citrea is live, Tanari mainnet isn’t fully open yet. That timing is intentional, and reflects how we think about our users and their funds.

Let us explain what we mean by this.

Why Tanari Isn’t Rushing Mainnet

At Tanari, we’re building a self-owned Bitcoin financial platform meant to be used for years, not just launched and forgotten. Our goal is to go live in a way that earns long-term trust.

When users interact with Tanari, we want them to feel confident at every step. Confident that their funds are safe, and that security isn’t something added later, but something that shaped every decision from the very beginning.

Think of it like this: Citrea just finished building the skyscraper. It’s beautiful, it’s stable, and the architecture is brilliant. Tanari is the elevator system inside. Before we let the whole city pile in and head for the top floor, we’re running every stress test imaginable. We’re checking the cables, testing the weight limits, and making sure the emergency stops work every single time.

From the outside, launching a mainnet can sometimes look like flipping a switch, and we get it. But in reality, it’s the moment a system moves from controlled testing into real-world conditions, and that takes a lot of effort from the team building it.

That transition from testnet to mainnet deserves care, and patience. And it deserves the kind of attention that puts users first.

Because security matters enough to us that we want to see everything perform exactly as it should under real conditions before opening the doors more widely, we chose not to rush.

Opening Mainnet in Circles

When Tanari goes on mainnet, it will do so gradually, through what we call Tanari Circle.

Each layer of a circle represents a controlled expansion of access. A smaller group of users enters first, real activity begins, and we observe how the system behaves in practice. As confidence grows and everything performs as expected, the next layer is added.

Instead of a single “grand opening” for everyone at once, access is introduced layer by layer within the same circle. Each stage gives us the space to make sure everything works as it should before the next layer is added.

This approach allows us to:

  • Validate critical flows like onboarding and recovery under real conditions.
  • Confirm that funds are safe by limiting exposure during the initial rollout.
  • Ensure a smooth experience so that when you join, the system is already "broken in" and proven.

It’s simple: when users join Tanari, we want them to feel calm and confident, knowing that the system has already proven itself and that the team behind it took the time to get things right.

Don’t trust, verify

Bitcoin has always been shaped by a simple expectation: don’t trust, verify. It’ not just a catchphrase, it’s a way of thinking about systems that are meant to hold real value.

That mindset is central to how we think about Tanari. When real funds are involved, confidence doesn’t come from promises or timelines. It comes from seeing the same behavior, the same outcomes, again and again, under real conditions.

Mainnet is where that verification matters the most. It’s where assumptions get tested, edge cases show up, and systems prove whether they behave the way they’re supposed to when people actually use them. Taking the time to observe that process it’s part of earning trust.

The bar we care about is simple. When someone uses Tanari, they shouldn’t have to second-guess what’s happening or worry about whether something has been rushed. They should be able to interact with it confidently, knowing the system has already been observed, and proven in real conditions.

That’s how trust forms in Bitcoin!

Yes, it’s worth the wait

Citrea mainnet going live is a major step forward for Bitcoin-native infrastructure. Tanari builds on that foundation with a focus on usability, simplicity, safety, and long-term trust.

The first circle will be small. Over time, the circles will expand. Each step will be taken with intention and care. We will talk more about this later.

We’re building for the long term, and doing Bitcoin the right way takes patience. When the first layer opens, it will be because everything is ready, tested, and proven, so users can step in with confidence from day one.

See you soon, it will be worth the wait!
